reflux redux

Thank you everyone for your input!

We’ve been doing the sitting upright thing after eating, we’ve tried gripe water and that’s helped with his gas fussiness (our pediatrician said she couldn’t recommend it, but Nurse Jess thought it was good!), Enfamil AR (Acid Reflux), breast milk with rice cereal, feeding him less food more often, etc.  I think I was worried about making a fuss to the pediatrician about it because I didn’t want to self diagnose him or medicate him if it wasn’t necessary.

Last night, I felt horrible for him. He was just screaming and you can almost hear the bubbling right before the spit up. It was a pretty fast and furious spit up and he was not a happy camper about it.

The pediatrician wrote us the prescription today for the Zantac. We’re going to do a trial run for 3-4 weeks to see if he feels better.

Of course, Lois just called me from CVS to find out what our prescription plan is because she forgot her wallet at home.

How am I supposed to know? I’m not the one that pays attention to any of that information?

The coolest thing happened last night. I met up with Lois on my way home from work and she had Andrew in the car. He was staring into space when I opened the door and poked my head into his infant seat to say hello! He gave me the biggest smile! It was so cool! I know he was just thinking – Hey Mommy! I missed you!!

Hope it helps! Just a question, did you ever try the Good Start formula? I know it might not help with acid reflux specifically but it really helped with Riley’s constipation and maybe it’s easier on the stomach because it’s partly broken down. So perhaps it reacts better in the tummy and might not come back up as easily??? Hope Andrew feels much better! Poor guy.

That’s so cute that Andrew was happy to see you. :)

Yeah, it’s wonderful when they really start to notice and smile at you. Gosh, Andrew really has grown. I haven’t been around for so long I was afraid I’d see pictures of him driving or dressed up for the prom. LOL.

I need to update my link to your site. Hope wordpress is working out for ya.
