sold!

You all remember the car saga from this post and this post, right?

We sold the Hyundai. Actually, Billy sold my Hyundai.

After Billy allowed us to use his driveway for broken Hyundai storage, after we worked to pay off the $1,800 we owed on it, after searching each and every option to fix or do something with this car, we sold it for parts.

$200.00

“That’s all?” I asked Lois.

“What did you think you were going to get for it?”

I don’t know. The car had so much more value to me. I guess I was still hoping it had some worth.

Maybe we’ll put it towards our P-Town vacation next month. Maybe we’ll pay a bill or two.

$200.00

I guess better than than nothing, right. Sigh.

BTW – the odometer read 100,520. 520 miles over the warranty and they wouldn’t push it through or cover any of the work. I guess I feel a little better that I’m driving a Subaru now. At least Subarus don’t self destruct right after the warranty coverage expires.

Congrats on selling the car… but you are right, I can’t believe they would make an exception on 520 miles!

It sucks to have others not see the personal value of something that we (once) loved. I’m sorry. But still – $200 for a broken car with that kind of mileage is pretty good.

You know though, I’d think that promo value alone would have made it worth making an exception on the warranty. Their loss.

    Enjoy the new car!

DAMN that’s a lot of miles. What a great car.
I’m glad that you were able to sell it.

Oh I’d love to be going to P-Town in a month! I’m glad you at least got something for the car – and I guarantee you will be happier with a Subaru!
