fairground days

We went to the firefighter’s carnival in NF last night. (I was a good Weight Watchers girl last night! No hamburgers or fried dough or cotton candy or candied apples for me)

Andrew was in absolute awe, it was hysterical. He didn’t care about who was holding him or being fed or who was tickling him, he just couldn’t get enough of all of the lights and sounds.

Lois’ brother was working the carnival and was walking around with Andrew showing him off to everyone. Seeing Andrew with Uncle Joe is like Super Size Me and Mini Me. It was very funny seeing a huge bald cop playing “gaga” with this little beefy baby who looks exactly like him.

When we got him home last night, we had a lot of fun with him. I love this age!

He kept rolling over on his belly on the bed and we kept hiding and popping up with “Boo!” over and over again. He laughed and cackled like he never has before. He didn’t even realize he was on his belly for 10 minutes, he was having so much fun! There is nothing like the shrieking noise of a tremendously happy baby!

I really need to upload the video, when I figure out how to do it!

On a non-sleeping note, the rolling over thing is interfering with our glorious 9 hour stretches of sleep that Andrew was on. He now is flipping himself over in his crib and waking up crying because he doesn’t like being on his belly.

I keep telling him that if he insists on rolling over, he’s going to have to learn to roll back or deal with the consequences of his actions.

At 2:30 am this morning, he woke up, on his belly and was apparently so hungry that he needed to wake up the neighbors with a “my mommies have been starving me, call DCF” crying fit.

Poor kid.  Poor mommies.

    Sounds like a fun night!

Happy babies are so so much fun. Though the middle of the night – help i’m stuck fits – are not so much fun. I hope he figures out how to get himself unstuck soon! Then you get to go through it again when he figure out how to pull himself up. ;)

Erik kept waking up crying when he first learned to roll one way too, and we’d have to go in and flip him back over and get him all settled again. But before long he learned how to get comfortable on his own. Now he flips around all over the place in there, but mostly likes to sleep on his side. This was also the time we had to put the bumper pads in his crib because he kept hitting his head and getting his arms and legs stuck. Good luck and I hope you’re back to your 9 hours of sleep soon!

When you said that Lois brother was working the carnival….my first reaction was….omg he’s a carny :) ha ha
You’ve talked about Lois’s family and how they are well known in the community and not in a good way. So I was thinking, well being a carny fits perfectly. ha ha ha
(Carny = Carnival worker…travels around setting up and working carnivals)

Sometimes when babies hit big milestones their sleeping habits change as well.
    Good luck !

Just because Lois’ brother is a cop and not a carny does not make the family any less insane than I have previously characterized them. LOL!!

Ok now I must see a pic of Lois’s brother and Andrew side by side to get this mental picture and to see how much they look alike!!! Don’t tease Holly :)

Baby’s laughter is the only “shreiking” I love to hear!
