baby #2

I know that I am WAAAAYYY too busy at work to be blogging.

But…

No, I am not pregnant.

I just read an email on our yahoo group that our donor will be retired soon.

We currently have 3 vials left in storage of Andrew’s donor. I am not overly optimistic that I can get pregnant within 3 tries (yes, it will be my turn next. Lois is not going through that again)

I guess this means that we mommies may need to have a conversation about the proper course of action. hmmm.

oh that’s a tough one! we have 5 vials of Moon’s donor and we bought them as soon as i got pregnant. At that time there was very little left of him and as the 10th family pregnant by him, we closed him out. i’ve always just hoped that when we ready to try for #2 that it will work with the 5 we have, but i think we’d be willing to use a different donor if we had to. but who knows…

    good luck!

WOW – huge decision….I wish you all the best with it…the first thing I see as positive is that baby #2 would be close in age with Andrew and that is a good thing…you share much more in common when you are close in age…but having two little ones you have to be ready for it!!!
I wish you both so much luck and love in deciding what step to take next….
BTW – yes you may have tons of work to do…but you gotta take time out for yourself everyday so you don’t go crazy – go check out some stars!!!
    Peace–Ellie

Buy more and then if you don’t use it all sell the rest on ebay.

If you can, I would vote for buying more too. If, down the road, you don’t need them, there will be other people who would love to buy it for you so they can use the donor again. Our son’s donor retired right after we got pregnant with our son so he wasn’t an option for baby #2. It worked out great and I didn’t care, to be honest, but there are times when I wish it had at least been an option.

    Just my two cents.

It is so wierd that Stacey and Angele are going to be trying again soon too. Considering that A and R are siblings. Wouldn’t it be cool if you guys were pg again together?

I hate that we have to worry about this. It should be that they keep him donating when there’s demand for siblings. But the banks don’t care.

We just bought 7 after learning that he was close to retirement and we hope that it’s enough for at least 1 more by the same donor.

Remember, he has worked in 3 tries for most people. I think his stuff is powerful! ;)

Good luck with that one! E and I can’t afford to stock up on our donor right now after all we spent to get baby number 1 (and all we’re going to have to spend adopting baby #1). We have two vials left, and it took us over 2 years to get pregnant, so we’ve already had the conversation about using different donors. I guess it’s different when you feel like you probably don’t have any options…

It is a big decision…. here’s to hoping you have all you need already!!

What a tough decision but I’d buy more if you can. We used the same donor twice. We REALLY liked him-as you know, he looked SO SO SO much like Dawn. However, he was constantly sold out. The second time we used him, we actually bought it from another person who gave up. Then he was sold out for the third month again, then the fourth month so we just changed donors. They told us if we waited for a huge batch coming out of quarantine, we could have stocked up but when you are in the mode of trying.. you want to try, not wait.

The point is.. you could sell it easily. It is a simple form that is filled out and then the bank will send it to whoever.

Of course.. funds get in the way too.

Good Luck! We are going to be trying this month actually… YEAH!!!!

OMG! I can’t even imagine having a #2! One is just enough, sometimes too much, for me. You guys are way too brave.

Hope all is well! I keep track of you but don’t always post. Things might be starting to calm down though.

When are you coming out here!?!!!

    Big hugs to everyone!

Oh, did football blow this week or what?! We both have GREAT weeks and STILL DIDN’T WIN!!!

I have been saying this all along. Since finding the other 1/2 sibs….I’m a little PICKY as to who ends up with the left overs :)
BUY EM UP GIRLS !! Buy now, think about it later !

I would buy more too. We bought more of our donor after finding out that they wouldn’t be getting any more vials from him up here (in Canada.) Like someone said, you can sell the extras if you don’t end up needing them.

Wow, what a big decision. I say what the hell, go for it. The time will never be absolutely perfect to have another one..and hey..if it works..you’ll have 9 months to prepare! : )

i’d buy it for sure if it’s feasible. we only have 2 vials left of our dude and we haven’t seen anymore anywhere. he’s been retired for quite some time. we’ll probably check again once we start trying in a few months but are kinda resigned to finding someone new if necessary. good luck to you guys!!

These decisions are so hard. We used a different donor for the twins. Not exactly of my choosing but that’s the way it worked out – for health reasons. Good Luck.
By the way, I tagged you on my blog, see it for details.

If I’m lucky to get pregnant with one, I hope this won’t be an issue. But as we have already used 13 other vials, I doubt I’ll ever be able to buy that many for a sibling. And you never know. You could be one of those lucky enough to get knocked up on the first try. Yes!
