This video was taken on Saturday night after about 4-5 attempts of him almost falling asleep on us, but waking right up and screaming when we tried to get him into the crib, and after dragging him out to Kohl’s for a car trip since he wouldn’t sleep. I love the looks we got from people for having him out after 9:30 pm. One woman actually asked “what’s he doing out so late?”
It’s a little long and I wish it wasn’t so dark, but he was totally cracking up.
Last night, he fell asleep at 7:03 pm not even 1/2 way into his bottle. As soon as I tried to get him into the crib, total chaos ensued.
After some attempts to let him cry it out. Then pick him up to console him a little. Then let him cry it out. Then try to pick him up again. Then lay him down in the crib. He stands up again. Put him down in the crib again. He stands up again. Let him cry it out some more.
You get the picture. (It’s terrible to hear them crying so long)
At 10:54 pm, he stopped crying. It’s now 7:30 am and he’s not up yet. And he didn’t wake up once during the night.
If this is going to be a 4 hour get down to sleep ritual for a while, I’m going to need to start at 4:30 pm.

Exhausting. I think you’re amazing to get through it. & maybe it’s worth it if he doesn’t wake through the night. That must be nice.
Love the video.

Wow, he didn’t even seem tired. How exhausting for you. That’s an annoying toy too. LOL. Hope bedtime starts getting easier.

well if he stayed up later then usual but slept through the night then I would call that a success…but I am so sure that it is just stressing you all out to the hilt.
Just know that it will not be forever….
Loved the video….that toy is fun…at least he loves it!!!
I truly wish you all the best in trying to get bed time settled…
Peace–Ellie

That toy is scary.
Hope the sleep issues work themselves out. It can be exhausting!!! He is cute though so that’s gotta help a little…

He didn’t look tired AT ALL

Syd was like this. She has ALWAYS been a night owl. she also allowed me to sleep until 9 even 10 am
I adjusted her wake up time and naps. Followed a schedule…nothing changed. I think it’s one of those things that is just born in them
My boys….down at 8 pm. sometimes 10 minutes before…sometimes 30 minutes later…but nothing seems to change it.
Too bad you can’t use it to your advantage and sleep in
Good luck !

I feel your pain, because at 2 1/2 J still does the same thing. On the bright side the older they get the less you have to watch them like a hawk. Yeah – I am mother of the year material – you should totally take advice from me. HA!
What a cutie. The video was awesome. Before you know it you will be writing about trying to wake up a teenager before noon on the weekends.
