I hope everyone had/is having a wonderful holiday season!
We celebrate Christm*s here and had a great last 2 days, but we’re a little tired today. I’m home with the boy today since his Mema is sick with a stomach virus. I figure I have 9 vacation days left and I’m going to lose them anyway (plus I’m not making my annual hours) so why not stay home with the kid!
It’s 12:01 pm and the only thing I’ve accomplished yet today is a shower! Now that he’s taking a nap, I can actually write a little.
First and foremost, I must apologize to a very bored and a very pregnant Norwegian who I promised I would write a blog post last night. I was too exhausted by the time I got home to even write my own name. So, from now until at least the birth of the little baby boy she is waiting for, I vow to post everyday to give her something to read – even if it’s incredibly boring!!
Christmas was wonderful! This was the first year that we weren’t driving between 3-4 different houses all day. We did Christmas Eve with Lois’ parents (including a nice meal of king crab legs and filet mignon) and left by 5 pm to be at my parents’ by 7 pm where we had another fab dinner which included swedish meatballs.
We stayed at my parents’ house for the night and had a nice lazy Christmas morning with my sister, BIL, 13 yo nephew and my brother. My sister was totally bearable (not always the case) and my brother seemed to be doing fine, even though he was not with his family. I don’t know how to describe it other than it was nice. It was not stressful at all.
Andrew was totally overwhelmed and spent most of the day bouncing back and forth between being terrified of the dog (Sam, the Akita) or being comfortable enough with the dog to want to bang her in the head with a toy.
Andrew got 3, yes 3, ride/walk-behind toys and on Christmas day, he actually used one to walk around with a little. We are very hopeful that he finds this much more fun than wanting us to constantly walk around with him.
As I try now to go check out all my buddies’ blogs to see how everyone is doing, I will also work on getting video up since Lois got me something for Christmas that may solve my whole analog tape to DV problem. We’ll see if I can actually figure it all out.
Hope everyone’s holiday was happy and full of peace!

So glad you all had a nice Christmas….that is awesome…sounds like Andrew got everything he wanted…LOL
I say USE THOSE VACATION DAYS…especially if you are going to lose them…WOW what a bummer not to be able to carry them over….you deserve some down time anyway…
Remember I told you that now I am able to sit outside and look at the stars at night….well I got a MAGNIFICENT telescope from my daughter to really look at the stars….it even connects to your computer so that you can take pics of the stars and upload what you saw….OMG…so I say for the new year…take the time to look at the stars…you never know what you might catch….
I hope you have a great time with the lil one….take care and I am glad you are going to blog everyday for a while…I for one will enjoy it all!!
take care
Peace–Ellie
