12.5 weeks

What a blog slacker I have turned into!

Where do I begin?

I’m currently 12.5 weeks pregnant. We have an ultrasound on Friday (13 weeks!) to check in on the little one.

The Shmoo is doing okay. We’ve been at the pediatrician’s office a few times in the last two weeks with a viral rash which made his eczema worse. Then, it returned with a vengeance 10 days later, this time with a rash from head to toe (literally, his head was as itchy as his feet), plus a fever. He was just miserable. We think we’re nearing the end of that, but now he’s just been super cranky and clinging the past 3 days. He’s doing that thing where he’s just crying for no reason. He wants juice, no he doesn’t want juice. He wants to be picked up. No, he wants to be put down. He wants to go upstairs. No he wants to go downstairs. He wants Mommy (“Hol-Dy”). No, he wants Momma. It’s quite frustrating and exhausting. He doesn’t have a fever. His teeth don’t seem to be bothering him. He was just at the doctor’s office last week and they didn’t see signs of anything else. Hopefully, he will be back to his normal self again (which is still sort of whiney, but with more laughing interspersed).

I’ve been working my tail off. I billed 66 hours last week and decided not to do any work this past Sunday, which I am currently paying for. I’m super tired, still feeling like throwing up about 99% of the time and am cranky all the time.

This is where I do a shout out to my amazing and loving wife, Lo, who has been taking care of me and the Shmoo and has not either left us or tried to smother us in our sleep. I love you Lo! ;-)

Our weekends have been as packed recently as our weekdays. Unfortunately, not much is looking like it will cool down soon. I just need to be a total rock star and make it through this week without too many hitches or full exhaustion.

And I need to always remember to hit “mute” on my conference call before I throw up (or just dry heave) in my office garbage can. I haven’t forgotten to do this yet.

BTW – I can’t seem to get a “widgetbox” baby ticker to work on WordPress. I guess wordpress doesn’t recognize javascript. Anyone have any suggestions, or other good html widgets?

Yay 12 1/2 weeks already! Woo hoo!! You need to figure out a baby ticker because I can’t keep track of this pregnancy without one. Can’t wait to hear about the ultrasound.

    Hey there,

I had the same problem with the ticker at wordpress.
    This is what I did:

    - create a ticker (f.e. http://www.lilypie.com, you can choose the large ticker)
    - go and post a new page/blog (add new)
    - choose HTML style
    - go back to the ticker site, copy the HTML-code (used for web, email and forums that allow HTML)
    - now you have to “fix” the site so it will stay on top of your blog (on the right hand…under visibility ?!?!)

(Sorry, I use the german version of wordpress, but I hope it will work as well)

    Grretings from Germany,

    Jen

Yay on 12.5 weeks. Looks like you have a suggestion for a ticker and I hope it works! I have to follow this and a ticker will help :)

Sorry about Shmoo… hope he gets back to his normal chipper self soon!

Sorry to hear he’s been sick, hope he’s feeling better now. Erik acts like that (“I want this, no I don’t!”) on a regular basis. It usually means he’s really tired and we always put him to bed early on those days. It’s so frustrating when they get like that and nothing you do is right!

Congrats on almost 13 weeks! I hope you start to feel better soon.
